How to grow your personal wealth

Many things about money are beyond our control. We cannot control the share market or the changes in the world geopolitical picture. But certain things can be controlled by us. For example, we may not be able to control the stock markets, but we can control how much we invest. Similarly, we cannot control the company we work for, but we can choose to save a cushion of cash so that if our industry is hit by layoffs, we can still pay our rent and credit card bills and get a good night’s sleep. Here are some simple ways to take charge of our financial destiny:

Get pretty well organized

There is no need for professional help to organize, we just need to come up with some sort of system that we can understand, so if we have to find an important piece of paper, we can do it quickly and without a great deal of trouble.

Piles of clutter drains out energy, so try to clean up. In order to live peacefully and happily, we have to keep the various areas of our life in balance. Imagine our living space as a chess- board and the husband and wife as king and queen. The four important squares to be concentrated are, income, spending, debt and savings.

To reduce clutter, pare down our papers. We get rid of old receipts and brochures. Set up a simple filing system and throw out junk mail. Open whatever is necessary and deal with it. Pay the bills as they come in, instead of stockpiling them until the end of the month. Moreover, watching all that money fly out of the door can be an emotional drain.
